Does anyone one know who to contact to get immunization docs? I called capital health and my doctor's office and neither had a clue.

Have you found them yet?

Some of us Canadians couldn't get our records. After so many years, some places don't keep them anymore. They didn't have mine.

I went for a Titres test. It was pretty easy, I walked into the MediCentre, brought the list of what I needed to be checked for and they sent me to the Lab. I showed low immunity on a few things and went to the Health Unit and got my shots redone. I waited a month for the shots to show up in my system and redid the Titres.

Alberta Health Care covered both the Titres and the shots, so it didn't cost anything.

I think the Titres is worth it, just to make sure you are protected. Some of these diseases are resurfacing. When I was in Vancouver a few days ago, I walked into a store and there were a few Japanese girls shopping and wearing face masks. I saw on the news that several of them had been quarantined at the Vancouver Airport and at a Vancouver Hotel because of Measles. I was glad I had my shots redone- I came up low on my measles immunity!

No! I called my highschool (where i got my shots done). I went to Ainley (massive!) they say they send the records to capital health...and capital health doesnt have them. So i am just gonna get them done again,

The shots or the titres?

Both I guess. I will have to get done whatever I need to...and since i dont have any records i will have to do whatever i have to in order to meet the requirements.

Do the Titres first. Is anything comes up low- then go to the health unit and get the shots done. The Heath Unit isn't too keen on giving shots unless they know you need them.

Andrea has her Medical today!!

I wonder how it going.

Just talked to Stacey's best friend forever (Dr. Chana's nurse) he he he and yes, she gave the EFF OFF you are not getting copies of your results... said she called the Consulate and -brace yourselves- THE RESULTS OF YOUR MEDICAL ARE PROPERTY OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT- I kid you not, that's what she said. Do I believe her? Doesn't really matter - seem we're scr....'d and won't get copies of squat.

Oh! She also mentioned that since October all doctors received NEW instructions from the Consulates as to "what to look for".... hmmm.... of course she didn't tell me what the instructions were.... b!tch - as if

a- she was the doctor

b- you needed security clearance number 1/code red to access info about YOUR health

c- it was a bad sequel to Mission Impossible 3 (which was bad enough)

In any case, my results are ready tomorrow. I will still hate her for a while and then realize how ugly she is, put on my best clothes and go shopping. SO THERE!!!

so i had my medical today, and it went well i thought - despite the fact that i had to sit in the exam room waiting for about 20 minutes. i swear, they have no a/c in that building; i was only in that paper gown and i was still sweltering. the receptionists and Dr. Chana were ok, not overly friendly but not rude either. maybe it helped i had all my paperwork together, i don't know.

asked some general questions about my medical history, so i provided him letters from my family physician and gastroenterologist detailing my conditions and that they were really of no consequence. took my immunization records (she said i would get them back when i came to pick up my stuff, so i hope so), but he did send me for more blood work. apparently my titers results didn't show everything he wanted to see (only showed rubella and hep B) so i'll have to see what it says about measles and mumps. exam was very cursory, and much less 'invasive' than i thought it might be. apparently he had to make note of my 5 tattoo locations (why, i've no idea but whatever) lol. the receptionist said the results would be ready Wednesday next week, so here's hoping.

so now i wait on pins and needles until my interview. this is the only thing i can see possibly causing any problem with getting my visa (my two medical issues), so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. it shouldn't, but until i have that piece of paper in my hands, i won't relax.

EDIT: guess i should also say that when i went for my tetanus booster yesterday, the nurse said that because my rubella level was high enough, they wouldn't do the MMR booster. she said that rubella automatically indicated that i'd received measles and mumps vaccinations. i sure hope she's right and hasn't caused me problems...

I'm still not 100% on the vaccination part and using it for AOS.

I am pretty sure that my medical results are in the big sealed envelope I bring to POE. I can ask if they would be willing to make a copy of my vaccinations for me. Or I do have the Titres results from the Lab, I can also phone the Heath Unit tomorrow and ask them if they could give me an updated record since I had all shots redone recently- I just thought of that.

I know once I am in the US, I will have to take it to a Civil surgeon that is USCIS approved to have it transcribed.

I'm still learning about the AOS part :)

Stacey,

I think they are SOOOOOOOOOOO b-s-ing you. They have to keep copy for their records so why the @$#%$^ don't they just reprint the darn thing? Maybe they want more cash - this "panel physicians" are all about the extra bucks.... in cash only of course :hehe: Ask them directly how much for a copy of MY MEDICAL - nicely as you are my friend; don't be like me he he he. ;)

Call that witch again. I know she is quite the diva.... AS IF....

Cheerio's my friend, L.

I know I am coming in late on this, but you won't get a copy of the results from the medical -- but ask for a copy of the vaccination worksheet that the doctor has to fill out as part of the medical -- that's the piece of paper you want.

I think they're being honest when they say they're not supposed to give you a copy of the medical. It's not really their fault.

I didn't get a copy of mine either. It seems unfair to me, but what part of this process seems fair?

I called to Medisys in Toronto where I had my medical. asked them to provide me with a copy of vaccination after my medical was completed and sealed, they said that they will not give any copy's from medical, only one set which they give us for the consulate, they don't have records stored in their system nor softcopy or hardcopy.

Does anyone knows if we need this copy of vacination when applying to AOS?

what happens with the envelope we recived from the consulate? I guess it should have medical papers Will they give it back to us after US official reviews this contain of the envelope @ border?

If anyone can answer this question, will appreciate.

They keep the brown envelope.

I got two copies of my medical from the Dr in Vancouver: one for the K3 and one for the CR-1. I asked for two copies when I initially made the appointment. No extra charge.

Yup, they are not nice... which they should be, considering all the darn business they do out of our money  .... to later tell us we have no right to access said information  . Be patient G&A, and do wait for MTL to give you a case number and also, important: remember that medicals have an 'expiration date' of I believe 6 months (that's what Dr. Chana's b!tch, I mean secretary told me). So don't get them done way to ahead baby or you'll have to get them redone and I would hate that!!!

Nice to meet you BTW, Len.
