My husband going to start to file for the visa,but we're not bringing my daughter yet,we're just gonna petition her if everything's settle when i get to the states. I just wanna ask,do i still need to show them any of my daughter's document even if its only me applying for a visa now.

If you are asked whether you have a daughter, you should tell the truth. How old is your daughter, and is she married?

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

28 Jun 2013: POE Houston

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

She's 10 years old. I just wanna know if we need to show any of her documents even if we're not filing for her visa now

Again, show documents you are requested to show. If your husband is listed on her birth certificate as her father, it is a good idea to submit her birth certificate as evidence of your bona fide marriage. It is OK to file later for your daughter, but make sure you realize that it will take much longer to file for your child than for your husband, especially if your husband is not her legal father through birth or adoption. What you absolutely must NOT do is to claim you do not have a daughter, because that could cast your truthfulness into question and make it impossible for her to immigrate later.

you should always indicate you have a daughter now if asked as it will help your case later when you want to file for her. But mind you, it will take longer for you to bring her over as an LPR unless your husband will petition her later as a stepchild. It would have been faster for him to include her in your petition but you say you are not ready...

Since she is a minor, have it in mind that the CO at your interview MAY be curious to know your plans about leaving her behind.

Edit: so basically you are not erequired to show any of her documents since she is not included in the current petition but your DS 230 form( at the NVC) will ask for names of children...so that is where her name will come in.

NVC: (19 days)
Case entered and # assigned: 2011-11-18
NVC Case COMPLETED: 2011-12-07 ( 43 days from NOA 2 and 65 days from NOA 1)
Interview Date(Lagos): 2012-01- 23 Mom was late for interview
New Interview date: 2012-02-29 : VISA APPROVED
