Dilemma with passport name

Guys, this is what happened to my Wife’s passport. Please help. My Wife’s passport was issued prior to the marriage. It has her mother name wrong “It states as Shannon”. It should have been Janice. So we have decided to fix the name to Janice to match the register marriage certificate and the I-130 petition. However, issue is that now that we are married. Is my wife obligated to add husband name to the Indian Passport. We are not thinking about changing her maiden name at all since all her documents are in the maiden name. Question is, Can we add the Husband’s name to the Spouse column without changing anything in my Wife’s name?

Yes, you can add husband's name to the spouse column. Wife is not required to take husband's last name. It is a choice.
