Quick back story. Im a US citizen. My fiancé entered the country on a k1 visa. We got married in US and did the change of status. Our plan was to settle in the US. Sometime after applying for change of status we were both offered jobs in a different country (not her home country and not US). She already had her fingerprints taken and her interview is scheduled for next month. I made arrangements with the company where I would come first to start working and she would come after getting her PR approved. I will be flying back to US to be there for the interview but we will have to leave the US to go work soon after.

So, my question is...

1. How soon after interview will my wife be able to leave?

2. Will living and working in another country negatively effect her green card and US Permanent Resident status?

Also, the option of me leaving after the interview then my wife coming later is not an option because we will be traveling with our 10 month old. It would be very hard for my wife to travel alone with the baby.

Thanks for any advice!

From what I understand, LPR's aren't allowed to live and work in another country and will have their status taken away. There are requirements for LPR's, you should google them. I'm fairly certain she won't be able to keep status though if this is your plan.
