Per my wife, the VO asked only two questions. Where does your husband live, how did the two of you meet? From relative or friend. Asked to see a few pictures, and took my 3yrs tax transcript. Then he said, ok you passed. You may leave now. My wife didn't even realized that, that was the interview. She had thought that they were still asking for evidences and then take her to a room to do the interview. My wife asked, huh? what does that mean? Does that mean I'm approved? VO replied, yes with a grin. Wait for the visa package, it should arrive in about 5-10 days.

Yes, my wife is from Taishan.

Yes we did have a banquet. We had it in Doushan versus Tai Shing. A lot cheaper. There was about 400 people. I included evidence of air fare, bus tickets, hotel receipts, engagement receipt, wedding ring receipt, skype phone logs, western union transfer. Best advice, anything that you do together keep it for your records. I had hired a lawyer, he sent it in with the I 130. Don't know if that had help or not. But definitely kept all records. Try to have photos of not just the two of you. Have as many people in the photo as possible. As witnesses that you two are together.

Congratulations, the VO usually has already decided whether you have passed or not. The ones they are not sure about are the ones that are asked all the questions to try and find anything that does not sound right about the marriage. Good job sending in all the evidence you did.

Hope you have a wonderful life together.

jhdaone, in document intake day what did they take? my wife is having document intake day and interview on monday of next week

On doc intake, you need to bring interview email/letter, medical exam package, passport along with two passport photos. That's all they took from my wife nothing else. Supporting docs were brought on interview date, but they didn't ask for it. Except for a few photos to see, But did take my 3 yrs tax transcript.

Good luck to you Dchiu

Congratulations on the approval ! Yay !

There's an EMS Tracking #, but tracking with EMS for now is a bit useless. It's useful later (read on).

For now, call the DOS Hotline every two days, asking for casefile status.

Status as I know it..

1. visa approved or denied

2. visa packet sent

3. casefile placed in administrative processing or

4. casefile placed in additional processing or

5. casefile placed in administrative review

Surely she'll have it within 2 weeks. I'm hoping EMS picks it up from the IV unit before the IV Unit shuts down for New Years.

Once you hear of 'visa packet sent' start tracking it with EMS online tracking. Also call the local EMS office in the city where it's going to be sent, about 2 days after that time tick.

In general, the EMS tracking system will show tracking info when the package has arrived to the destination city, rarely before.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Darnell,

What does casefile placed for additonal admin means. If they already approved it, why does it need to go to admin review? Also, when should I start to call DOS hotline?

Btw, Darnell you've been a great help throughout this process. I want to take the time and thank you for you help.
