Hi All,

Does anyone know when the medical expires for a IR visa? is it best to wait till the case is received at the consulate before making a medical appointment just in case there are delays once case is complete? or wait till we have an interview date first and then make an appointment?

thanks, everyone!

I believe it depends on your results, but it can be either 6-12 months. I would bank on 6 months, just in case.

OK, thanks!

I wonder if most people only schedule the medical once they have the interview date lined up?

We scheduled our medical, on Wednesday last week, for Feb 19th because we are going to be in Sydney during that week. After we scheduled our medical, we got the interview email! We were already set on getting a March interview so we wanted to get our medical done before the interview. I'm going to be calling the doctor today to see if I need to reschedule the appointment since it's on the same day as our interview now!

I've read that people have had theirs done as soon as they got their case numbers and they were fine.

I am the USC.
