hi! its the 3rd day of my 6th week sputum culture and until now theres no call from slec. (which is great!) but still im very paranoid. in what percentage am i to be negative? what week do they usually call for positive culture results? thanks and God bless!

There is no exact way to predict if you will be positive or not. As for the culture it is a waiting game I'm afraid. They have to see if there is bacteria growing (it is slow growing) The Dr.s can determine a culture any time till the time is up so it is pins and needles time waiting. Juliet and I got the bad news bout 3 and a half weeks in...almost 4...any early call will be bad news. After 6 weeks all should be ok

this is not true my fiance was called 3 days before her date to call and she went in thinbking she was ok but she was tested positive so we are doing the 6 month treatment right now we have 2 more months to go and she took another sputum test about 1 month ago and was negative but we still have to wait for the 6 months so i really dont think there is a safe time untill after the date your told to call sorry
