Hi guys, we got the NOA2 today.. saying that the petition was approved. It mentioned the I-824?

I am not sure if I understand it? I want to make sure we are not missing anything here?

What should we do next? is this necessary thing to respond to?

I hope to hear from you guys.

God bless!

That is not RFE. That is the NOA2. I just checked mine and it did mention the form I-824. You do not need to fill out the form if you do not want to request for another NOA2 (if in case you lost it) or if your fiance will not have an interview in a US embassy in another country other than Philippines.

You do not need to respond to NOA2. Next step is wait for your MNL# at NVC. It will take a few days to send your files from USCIS to NVC. I suggest you read this thread for guidance. I bookmarked it as my guide. Congratulations and good luck!

Did you get RFE maybe???

Hi Karola,

Thanks for your attention on my queries. Yes we got an RFE in Dec 6, 2012. Heres what exactly what it says on the I-797 that we received.

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about the visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate. The petitioner can also file form I-824. Application for Actionor as Approve Application or Petition,, to request that we notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa processing purposes. THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA.

Thats what it says... I checked the http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-824instr.pdf but I am still not sure what type of I-824 do we need.

Hoping to hear from you.. Im confused

Thanks,

MC

Hi Redvelvet,

Thanks a lot, I am not sure what exactly we have to do on the form? Since I guess I am falling under the category A?

Hoping to hear from you soon.

i know its a NOA2 :) i was just curious why did you get RFE before? can you tell me/

Hi Karola,

We got an RFE because my fiance was not able to provide the necessary documents, like affidavit of support and the divorced papers. he only sent the actual form for the petition. It took us a while to hear from them til he called on 6th of Dec. By the way, we are June 19 filer. So its really way out of the Vermont's timeline now. But I am really positive that it wont be too long from now.

So basically, my fiance dont have to respond on this I 824 anymore? Does it have any weigh on the "authenticity" of our relationship?

Thanks again for your help

HI Karola,

Im sorry for late response. I have confirmed to him that he didnt send any affidavit of support. So.... I was wondering.. is it necessary to have that? I think I've been reading it from the required documents I should bringthe interview. Im lost. :(
