How long does it take for K1 visa to be issued after interview approval?

Hi there,

For members who have gone through the K1 interview process at the Lagos embassy:

Once approved, how long did it take to have your visa issued? Same day, next day, one week, longer? I am just trying to get an estimate of an idea to see if it would be at all possible for my love to fly back with me once the Lord blesses us with an approval (gots to trust in the Lord!) Thanks!

I-129F K1 Fiancée Visa at CSC

1/4/06 ~ Met Online

2/15/06 ~ Got engaged

4/28/06 ~ Visited the love of my life! (The best 2+ weeks of my entire life!)

5/13/06 ~ Had to leave to the US without my love - (no way to describe the pain I felt)

6/5/06 ~ I-129F Sent

6/20/06 ~ NOA1

8/14/06 ~ Touched (response to email I sent stating 'request recieved and will be processed within 30 days)

8/16/06 ~ Touched (email stating letter responding to email was sent) - (after 30 days - still no letter - called USCIS to inform them - they will do inquiry)

9/21/06 ~ Touched (email stating that RFE was mailed to me on 9/20/06 - YES!)

9/25/06 ~ RFE received!!!!!!!!!!

9/26/06 ~ Mailed RFE back to CSC

10/2/06 ~ CSC received RFE

10/3/06 ~ Touched

10/4/06 ~ Touched

10/9/06 ~ Rec'd letter re: inquiry I made 8/14/06-just said I-129F is being reviewed and RFE rec'd by CSC

10/17/06 ~ NOA2 (Touched)

10/19/06 ~ Touched

10/27/06 ~ (Rec'd notice via email on 10/27/06 that NOA2 was 10/17/06 - should be in the mail!) Thank you Lord!

10/30/06 ~ Rec'd NOA2 in mail

11/1/06 ~ NVC rec'd NOA2

11/6/06 ~ NVC assigned new case # and sent to Lagos Consulate

11/11/06 ~ Rec'd NVC letter in mail

11/13/06 ~ Charles went to embassy - got Pkts 3 & 4

****Awaiting interview date set for 2/7/2007****

2/7/07 ~ APPROVED!!!! MY BABY IS COMING HOME!!!!

2/13/07 ~ Picked up visa at Embassy

2/21/07 ~ My baby and I are on our way home together!!!

2/22/07 ~ We are finally home in the US!

From what I have been told it can take another 5 days after the interview, this is what we are doing, our interview is 12/13/06. I am flying there, (I just feel that it leaves less to chance) I have bought us both tickets to fly out from Lagos 12/23/06. I just made sure his ticket was refundable, just in case. Remember that Nigerians tend to go home to Nigeria for Xmas, the flights will be FULL in December. Then In January, everybody goes back so flights out of Nigeria will Be FULL. When he picked up his packates the date was about 8 weeks out.

It takes about 3-4 days from interview date. If there is a name hit, they will have to do fingerprinting and checks and this takes about a month (i've only seen this happen twice)

06/06/05 I-130 NOA1

06/14/05 K-3 NOA1

07/08/05 k-3 NOA2

07/22/05 K-3 leaves NVC to Lagos

08/08/05 Hubby picks up interview packet from embassy

11/17/05 K-3 interview (denied, C.O refused to take co-sponsor for k-3)

12/16/05 I-130 NOA2

01/03/06 NVC assigns case number

02/15/06 Case complete (thank you James Shortcuts- only 6 weeks!)

04/19/06 tired of waiting, filed k-3 #2 ( petition is still lost in oblivion)

09/11/06 NVC scheduled CR-1 interview/ on to Lagos (thank God after 7 months of waiting!)

10/14/06 Interview date (success!)

10/18/06 Hubby goes to pick up visa- not ready ( ugh what's going on!)

10/19/06 Visa in hand ( thank you God!)

10/29/06 Together at last :)

Whole process 1 year and 4 months
