My husband is in canada and his GC just came in. I think he has enough document to return to the state without having to have the GC. But he is insisting i sent to him because he doesn't want to be stuck at the boarder. I called uscis and they said it was ok but we have to think of the fact that it could get lost or stolen but it was ok to do. But i am scare that it will get lost or worse. So anyone ever has to mail one and what was the outcomes?

Kassy, if you are to send him the gc, do so via FedEx or DHL, where chances of the document being lost are minimal. If your husband's IR/CR visa's endorsement in the passport is still valid, he will not need the actual card on him at time of crossing. Having said that I would not sweat it if you were to send it via FedEx or DHL. Remember that many Canadians, residing in the US, use these services when renewing their passports.

Good luck!
