how does Embassy contact K-1 visa applicants

Pls i would like to know how the lagos,Nigeria embassy contacts or notify beneficiary of k1- visa abt their interview date, do they call you on phone or they send an e-mail or send a mail to your address via courier..i need a good response to this .

pls if i may ask, is the receipt number from NVC going to be different from the USCIS receipt?

You have to send them an email at LagosIV@state.gov include on the subject your case number passport number and request for an interview date you will get a reply in 2 business days if you have been scheduled if not they will tell you you have not but keep sending them mail every week and calling them too this is how i got my interview date sent to me
