Hello, first time posting here. Anyways, on December 3rd I had completed my interview and was approved. I was told that our passports would be taken and returned when they were done with it. The agent told us that it would take less than a week and we should have it. We booked our flight (tommorow) and we still haven't gotten anything. I decided to shoot off an email to the Montreal Consulate and this was our conversation: (start from bottom up)

We are pleased to confirm that we are sending your passports and sealed immigrant visa packets today via LOOMIS. There is a possibility that it will be ready for pickup tomorrow, but the delivery time is up to the LOOMIS courier service, and may vary because of the busy holiday season.

If you have any questions regarding the courier service, you may contact CSC by email at contactus_en_CA@usvisa-info.com or

Or call Montreal - 514.400.2591

Calgary - 403.800.1194

Halifax - 902.982.2191

Ottawa - 613.800.0917

Toronto - 647.955.3736

Vancouver - 604.800.2794

Quebec City - 418.800.1751

I hope that this information may be useful.

Sincerely,

OP8

Thank you so much. If it is shipped today what is the likeliness of having it ready for pickup tommorow?

Good day,

We inform applicants not to make any travel arrangements to move to the United States, dispose of property or give up your job until a visa has been issued to you.

The consular officer is currently working on issuing the immigrant visas. I will inform you as soon as the packages are sent via LOOMIS. We will try to send the packages today.

Sincerely,

OP8

URGENT

My case number is:

Date of birth is:

Hello, my name is ----. I had a rather urgent question in regards to the delivery of my family's visa. We were told that our passports would be delivered within the week we were told by our immigration officer. Our interview was completed on December 3rd 2012 and we were accepted for our immigration visa. Our ticket for a flight to Los Angeles has already been booked as we would like to continue our process in the United States (booked for WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 19TH 2012). How much longer will it take for us to get our passports back? What is the current status on our visas? Please reply as soon as possible as this is VERY urgent and the date is getting close for the flight to Los Angeles. This is a VERY urgent plead and request for some sort of information if any to allow us to enter the US for these documents as we have purchased NON-REFUNDABLE tickets.

----------------------------------------

The problem right now is, this email came in the morning and they stated it was going to be shipped today for sure. I checked literally right now and there is nothing coming up for LOOMIS reference tracking. I called up LOOMIS and they stated nothing came up in their system. I'm getting really stressed, any ideas?

All you can do is wait. This is why people here on Visa Journey recommend, quite strongly, that travel arrangements are not made until the visa is in your hands. Are you able to alter your travel arrangements, and take a later flight?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

It's Christmas, this was in planning to surprise my younger sister living in California, we planned this quite some time ago--before the VISA situation even arised. I didn't think it would end up taking them almost 3 weeks even after the agent told us over and over again that it would be here within a week of interview.

I'm sorry, but there is nothing else you can do at this point. No matter what the agent told you, sometimes it can take a great deal longer than they say. If you haven't already, you need to look at changing your flight.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
