I am the petitioner, my fiance is in Cebu. Our NOA 1 June 28th and as we all know there are many, many dates being approved around this time. I read this site regularly, and I have gained vast knowledge here, thanks to all of YOU!

My question is, we have one 3 ring binder, with all our information init, in chronological order, in "see through" plastice, with the top part open if an officer wants to take a documents out to read more than the pront page, pictures, proof of travel, rentals, lodging, divorce decree's (mine) income taxes, assets, proof of income, everthing you could think of. We have one copy! All orginals some letters from my bank VP's notarized.

I keep reading here where NVC will ask for documents, so do we need additional copies, to send to NVC, and save all orginals, for the interview, and also I just read that at the day long seminar they will want to see all those documents again,..,.,DOES THE OFFICER THAT INTERVIEWS MY FINACE KEEP ANY OF THE ORGINAL COPIES?

Suggestions, and any answers would be appreciated, my friends!

I have heard two things:

One, any packaging or binder you send your petition into USCIS will be discarded because they place it in their own folder.

Two, any information you send in with the petition will be kept by USCIS. That's why it is said to send copies of originals unless specifically asked to provide them.

I'm not sure if you can get your documents back. You can always ask.

Good luck!

I am sorry, I did not make myself clear! The 129F application sent to VSC, was all copies, "MY FIANCE" has the 3 ring binder, in her posession, and all orginal documents for the "INTERVIEW", my question is how many other people will want to see the 3 ring binder with all the orginal copies in it? What about NVC, and Seminar, will they want similar documents as the orginals we have for "THE INTERVIEW"???????

Oh!!! Okay, now I understand. From what I have seen, the CO will have all the documents you have sent in for your petition, the copies. I haven't seen anybody post any requests by a CO for the originals that were sent in for the petition. They just always recommend that your fiancee has them JUST in case. Most of the stuff they request to see, as far has proving a relationship, is to see pictures, and any money remittance receipts.

As far as the seminar goes, are you talking about the CFO? I do know they request to SEE a copy of the USC birth certificate and a certified copy of the divorce decree. I don't think they keep the documents.

NVC will not ask for any docs any more as far as I know (they never asked us nor posted here). If approved from VCS, it will get sent to NVC. It will go through 'additional processing' (it took them 3 weeks for our case to get done). If you get lucky, they'll enter your case to their system, give you MNL case number, send it off to USEM and mark it completed after few days.

As for her interview, she needs these required docs

For the CFO Guidance Counseling, these are the docs

Bumbero was right, they'll ask for a copy of USC birth certificate and/or passport and any divorce papers.

Good luck!!
