While patiently waiting and reading Ling Che's NVC Shortcuts, I realize.. my husband will need an Australian PC in addition to his New Zealand Police Authorization (as you can't get them directly from the Police in NZ).

I get him to call the Auckland Central Police asap about fingerprinting. They are closing tomorrow.. til January 13th.

My jaw has dropped to the floor.

We are at day 51. The way that MSC transfers are going, I expect a NOA2 within the month (heres to a bit of wishing too).

So here's my quandary.

He will call Australia tomorrow to see if their fingerprinting units are also closed for such a long time. If they are not, he is going to look into FLYING over there just to be fingerprinted and put the certificate process in motion now.

But if he finds they are closed for just as long..

What harm could come, if hypothetically, we just include the NZ Police Authorization in the IV packet, and bring the Australian Police Certificate to the interview?

I know we SHOULD wait until we get the Aus PC.. But it could delay our processing by weeks if not another month.

People get requested for extra evidence, papers they forgot at the interview, etc, all the time it seems.

As long as we have it at the interview, should we be ok?

depends if NVC is willing to complete your case with missing PC and foward your case to consulate. yes this happens sometimes mainly bcoz for some countries it takes forever to get PC. its on individual basis and you will have to speak to supervisor. you can certainly try.
