Hey Everyone...

Great forum, lots of information, but I can't seem to find a decent answer. (even google is no help) :crying:

So, my situation is this...we finally got our interview date for the CR1 (of course it scheduled for when we were supposed to be in Europe - so those plans will now be changed, but that's another story).

My wife is 3 months pregnant....well, will be 4 months by the interview date, but none the less, we have decided not to get the x-rays, obviously. HOWEVER, today when my wife went to the Dr for the rest of the exam he refused to give her ANY immunization shots. Of course to make matters worse, she doesn't have any of her shot records, so basically we were expecting to get most if not all of them today. Now, I have since learned that the vaccines with virus in them should not be given to pregnant women, but there are still some that she should have received, right?

Also the doctor did say a couple of things that strike me as strange. He said she couldn't immigrate because she is pregnant and didn't have those items. Is that really accurate? From what I can find on the web that a K3 visa could be obtained without the vaccines. I have found on the web, where it can be a toss up as to the x-rays, but this should be pretty cut and dry, right? Now, he told her that he made a note as to why she could not have those procedures, but of course they are in a seal envelope and we have no idea what he really wrote.

So, does anyone have any experience with both of these items? :help:

PS

I had applied for the K3 visa as well, but haven't been real diligent about following up with it...it is still under NVC review of the RFE, so I suppose it could be ready by the time of the interview.

PSS

This is for the Costa Rica Embassy.

Thanks

My first question would be, have you contacted the Embassy?

I have alot of experience with that Embassy (Pavas).

This sounds like an issue they can help you with leading up to the interview.

Contact them ASAP or have your wife call. Either way you need to do it soon before the interview.

On another note, we filed for the CR-1 Visa on December 22, 2011.

Our interview was on November 19, 2012. Almost 11 months.

There was no need for the extra paperwork and fees (K3).

Good Luck

For some reason when I try to call, I can never get through.

However, when my wife called, originally about the x-rays and the girl that answered the phone told her she could not immigrate until after the baby was born because of the x-rays, but everything I have found makes me believe that she was misinformed.

(There are no extra fees associated for the K3 - for those that are new to this process.)

I guess worst case I'll just have to wait for the K3 to come through.

Oddly enough last night I received an email saying that a decision had been made on my I-129, but that is all it said.

"On December 5, 2012, the review of your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was completed. You will be notified of the decision by mail."

That strikes me as odd. Why no approval or denial?

Regarding the K3, there is a very high probability that is not the visa that will ultimately be applied for by your wife as that process (K3) will likely be administratively closed by the NVC. Instead, the visa that she will likely be applying for is the CR-1.

Just incase anyone else is following this thread.

I went to visit my wife this past weekend and took a look at the paperwork copy that she was given from the Dr. (The rest of the papers were sealed).

The Dr indicated that she "Maybe be elgiable for a blanket waiver", so I think we are pretty safe. (All that stress for Not!)

We have the interview scheduled on the 7th and I'll know for certain then. :)

I guess as I am closing this out...anyone else had any experiences with "Maybe be elgiable for a blanket waiver"? I feel like if the Dr said it was ok, then the consulate shouldn't be concerned.
