Hi Everyone,

(This is a country specific question and I am not quite sure where to direct my questions re Australia processing so I apologize in advance)

Just got off the phone with the receptionist for the doctor that does the visa medical exam. I explained my situation and told her I did not have a case number or interview date yet. They said it was fine and I could do my exam anyway.

Today when I asked where my results would be sent she said directly to the consulate, when I explained that this could not happen and asked if they could be sent to me she seemed to brush it off and told me to tell the doctor.

She asked the doctor the other day if I needed a case number and he said no but the conversation I had this morning confused me a little. Does anyone know if the doctor will be able to send my results straight to my house instead of the consulate?

I am expecting my NOA2 shortly and I am trying to do things now to save time later but I do not want to end up having to do my medical twice.

Any help or advice would be awesome.

Thanks so much.

David

I haven't heard of anyone having the medical in Sydney and having the results sent directly to their house.

I would check again with someone else there, I've also not heard of them allowing you to have your medical without your case number.

I would highly recommend delaying it for a bit longer, best rule of thumb for Sydney, would be to book when you get your NOA2 approval email, it takes 2-3 weeks to get your case number if you wait for Packet3, unless you call NVC for it, but it won't delay you. Up to you of course what you are comfortable with doing.

I had my medical with Dr. Waks in Sydney. He sent my results directly to the Consulate. I agree with SweetDelish, I haven't heard of anyone in Sydney having their results sent to their home either and would wait for your Case number before you schedule your medical exam. It won't delay things by much, but would avoid the likelihood of any possible mixups with your results getting misplaced.

I have already organized work off etc...

I wonder if I could get the Dr to hang on to my results and then send them once I get my case number.

Do you think that would be possible??

Thanks

David

Hard to say, you can ask, but I'd suggest confirming before you go.

I called them and they said they can hang on to the paperwork and forward them to the embassy once I get my case number.

My only question now is do I need to get a medical form from immigration to take with me on the day or can I print that off online somewhere?

There was no medical form that I needed to print off and take with me for the Medical. After I made my appointment at George Street they sent me this email below. I sent them a letter answering questions 1 to 6 with a photocopy of my Passport and Drivers Licence. If you have your immunisation history, send them a copy of this too as it will save the Doctor time on the day. At the Medical you will have to pee in a cup, then go through the medical exam (very easy and straightforward) the longest part is when the doctor has to fill in the DS-3025 which is the US Immunisation record. He will give you a copy of this once he has filled it out and you may need to take it with you to the interview. After your exam you will go for a blood test and X-Ray. If you have Dr Waks, he is great, such a nice man, and he will explain everything for you. My medical took forever because my 3 children all had to be done too, thankfully no blood test or x ray for them, but filling out the DS-3025 took forever.....Don't forget to take your Passport!!! Dr Wak's does many of these and he is very good at making sure everything is done correctly, if it is in his hands you can be assured he will do his best to make sure your results make it to the Consulate.

Dear XXXXX
