Hi. I've traveled to the US to help my wife move into our new place in Florida. So I know what documents to bring if my I-130 is not approved before Christmas (which it might not be since VSC is still on May 14th filers).

Does anyone know what would happen if I went to Florida for Christmas to visit my wife, family, and friends AND I was approved just before I left?

I don't know if I would get the NOA2 form in time to show customs, but has anyone ever run into this situation before?

I'll have the following:

1) I-797C (NOA1)

2) Proof of employment in Canada and that I'm returning

3) Recent Pay Stubs

4) Proof of registration of vehicle still in Canada

5) Proof of tenant's agreement in Canada with proof of payment for December and January

6) Proof of return flight booked

Would I have any difficulties during the NVC stage at all? I know that while I'm waiting for the I-130 to be approved, this might be all I should bring (I might need even less); I'm wondering if I would need the NOA2 form if I'm approved before I visit, though.

Any experiences and help is appreciated.

Best Regards.

I will be traveling with my husband next month, most definitely before NOA2.

I will bring a copy of our NOA1 and that's it.

If you had your NOA2, you could bring that as well.

Either one is helpful to your case while crossing.

Maybe I'm missing the question lol

Well, let's assume I'm accepted about a week before I leave and I don't get the NOA2 hard copy but I'm approved in principle. Would CBP require that I have that hard copy of NOA2? Or would they be fine with me visiting with the info I put in the original post?

Did you opt in for email/text approval?

Because, while it lacks some info, you could provide your printed NOA2 email and hardcopy NOA1.

I don't see why it would matter to them that you didn't provide your NOA2 if you were just recently were approved.

For 1, I don't think they can even see that info.

For 2, if they ask, you can explain you were recently approved but didn't have your hard copy yet.

True. ok. Thanks.

I did opt in. Sometimes they just don't send e-notifications, though, even if you sign up for it.

Well, I think you will be just fine to produce all of the ties you have at the time and mentioned above =]
