many Christians believe the Bible in not clear on this topic, sure Genesis gives a 6 day time table but The Bible also says "a thousand years is as a day and a day is a thousand years".

Many people look at the Genesis account and can't help but notice it does seem to mirror a form of evolution with man being the final step.

He could have said something like-

"I'm not a scientist nor theologian, in fact I have all that I can handle serving the people of Florida but one thing I am certain of and that is the Hand of God, was the creator."

What would have been wrong or misleading about that?

I believe God created evolution. Stupid religions cling to fairy tales when they should have jumped on that centuries ago. "Evolution? Duh, God knew we were going to mess with his creation and gave his creatures the abilities to adapt, in fact God himself makes all the adaptation choices...prove I am wrong"
