No info about passport after approval!!!! :(

After 6 hours at the Mumbai consulate I was told by a grouchy interviewer that my visa was approved, and that I should be getting it "within a week". It's been 2 weeks since and no info on my passport is available. I tried calling the helpline and they have no info on it; I email passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com and I get a "There is no status update for this passport number" response. What's taking them so long? Can they deny my visa after telling me it was approved?

i feel your pain the very same thing is happening with us during interveiw tell approve and they give time line to receive then nothing almost 3 weeks for us also the service center imo is waist tax money and our time
