VJ Members,

I applied for my wife and my sister decided to be joint sponsor as i dont make enough on my own. I have filled I-864 and My sister has filled I-864 and I-864A. My Question is:

She filed join tax return with her husband; however, we are not combining his income with my sister to sponsor my wife. My sister alone makes above 100,000 which is also indicated by her employement verification letter and all her paystubs etc

I have heard that many people went to interview and were asked to submit I-864A by joint sponsor spouse as well if they file tax return jointly however, i do not know the nature of situation of each individual such as did their joint sponsor combine their spouse income on I-864 or not because if they did then it makes sense for spouse to also file I-864A because their income is being combined to sponsor someone but if they did not combine their spousre income ( which is my case ) then it is confusing whther they still need to file I-864A from their spouse?

All in recap, my sister files joint tax return, so do i also need to have her husband file I-864A or not? We have not combined his income in any of affidavit of support form

Thanks
