I have used the following with no problems:

http://www.cheapoair.com/

http://www.onetravel.com/

http://www.bt-store.com/

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Flights

http://www.bookingbuddy.com/flight.php

http://www.kayak.com/?m_esc=1

Depending on the airline you can go to airlines website and often get the same price or cheaper booking direct.

You can also try a travel agent. Edward has beat the prices a few times over what I could get online.

Also just changing the day you can often get cheaper prices from day to day. I just booked the flight for my fiance and booked on cheapoair because its a long story but through all my searches I became aware of a flight that woukd show up only on thursdays on ANA Airlines. It was a one stop fight from SFO to Manila with a short 2 1/2 hour layover in Narita. It would only show up on occasion on cheapoair . I was finally able to book it for $580. The strange thing is its always available on ANA Airlines website but they dont allow the use of third party credit card purchases for the flight.

I was quoted some very low prices by St Raphael travel in Manila. They claim they have special prices for K1 applicants with Cathay Pacific, Philippine Airlines and American Airlines. They quoted me very good prices that included the 1620 peco travel tax. I have never used them but have heard there reliable. It might be worth a look if your considering buying ticket in phil.

You might want to check out this site. http://santraphael.com/home.php. I have contacted them already concerning the same issue for my fiancee. If I understand it right there are one way tickets available at special rates for 1st time immigrants to the states. Look like around the $500.00 range for prices. You can contact them on YM which is what I did. Good luck

Can you give me the exact link of st. raphael?

I am working with St. Raphael to get ticket right now. Look for Tessa. As Dan mentioned, I saved money on the travel tax of 1620 pesos which is about 38 dollars. Be careful of the hidden fee. For example, if you remit money directly to their account, there is a local bank fee of $7.00. If you pay in cash (pesos), ask them for the daily exchange rate first before making the deposit. Of course there is a deadline for any reservations. Overall, Tessa is pretty nice and responsive.

I was about to book online Philippineairlines.com. it would have been $1517.00/person to fly out of Davao on 11/10/12. I checked with Mango tours local travel agency here. - $965.00/person...Wow! almost $1100.00 savings. That's my experience, though, others will be different of course.
