Hi! Im new here... I would like to ask about the requirments for petitioning your parents. I have a problem with my mothers birthday. We all know that she was born on august 1952 but then when she go to NSO philippines it was April 1953. So she use the NSO for getting her passport. The problem is her birthday on my birth ceritificate, do you think it will be a big problem if the birthdate is different?

Thanks in advance.

My situation is worse than yours. The name on my mother's birth certificate doesn't match the name on my birth certificate. I asked her to write an Affidavit of One and the Same person explaining the discrepancies with supporting evidences. The NVC has accepted it and I didn't get a RFE. Of course, the US Embassy in Manila is the one who approves the petition so I don't know yet whether they'll ask me to have the name corrected on my birth certifcate. Her interview will be in December so I'll only find out by then. I suggest that you include a letter in your petition explaining the discrepancy as well and provide supporting evidence showing she's been using the birthdate of August 1952 until she found out that her birthdate is actually April 1953 during the application of passport.

Hi there! I am going to petition my Mom but have a problem with her BC. Her Middle name when she was single shows "Villa" but she's been using "Billa". (ex maiden name: Mary Villa Diaz but she has been using "Mary Billa Diaz"). Can she also get an Affidavit of one and same person? Do have a sample of this Affidavit that you can share

Also, did your Mom apply for a passport already? I am curious if my Mom needs that affidavit when applying for passport.

Thank you in advance!
