I -797, Notice of Action

Hi guys,

I sent out my I-751 in the beginning of August. I already received my I-797, Notice of Action (I-751 Receipt Notice), which states that my green card got extended for a period of one year.

I also had my biometrics appointment in the end of August. Now I am just waiting until my new green card arrives. Based on the average waiting time in California which is 6 months, I am assuming that it will come in the beginning of February.

I want to go back to Germany over the Christmas holidays for 2 weeks. Should I accept any problems reentering the US since my new green card hasn't came in? I am assuming not, but just wanted to double check.

I was planning to take my passport, my I-797 and my expired Green Card in order to reenter the US. Should I take anything else with me? Employment letter maybe?

Thanks,

Adam

You should be fine, as long as you take the original letter (I-797) with you, and not just a copy.

I agree you have no other choice other than stay home.
