To return to St Luke's for Psych Evaluation due to Psychological Incapacity as ground for Annulment Decree

Alright, to date we're 2 weeks away to Mike's interview. We've always tried to play it safe so I have him go to St Luke's yesterday and get his medical exam done. Physical and chest X-ray went well although we have no results yet. He's pretty fit, don't smoke, don't drink kind of guy (sure, they don't exist anymore right?) LOL

So after those tests, they have him come back in the afternoon to meet with a Psychiatrist or Psychologist (who knows) for the reason being he filed for annulment for his ex-wife and ground was Psychological Incapacity. After all the family, personal and social history questions and few attempts to provoke him (I'm assuming to see how he'll react) they told him to come back on Oct 24 (next available appointment), one day shy to his scheduled interview. Now my concern is should we go ahead and deal with the pysch evaluation and get the required clearance and resume with the set interview or are we cutting it too short? Will the CO deny his visa or will just cause some delays?

If we only knew this will happened, I should have him complete his medical the moment we've setup the interview day. We had about 8 weeks to kill at that time.

We need some inputs please.

I'm pretty sure you can reschedule the interview if you like at a later date. You may have some problems there you may not. I would just wait it out and play it by ear. IF you miss it..I dont think there is a penalty or anything for missing your interview date but the limit to reschedule is 3.

I had read somewhere you can go on with the interview.the embassy will just wait for the medical result. But I'm not 100% sure with this. We'll just wait for those who really know the process.good luck.

We don't intent to miss the schedule. We still want to go as scheduled but without the medical results. They say it takes a couple of days to get to USEM or more. With just few hours away from his psych eval to his 7:30 am schedule the following day, for sure St Luke's don't have the reports ready by then. He was told also that St Luke has the priority to reschedule applicants and K1 always have an open spot. It could be true or they could just be misleading applicants. As I'm searching the old posts, some say they were allowed to hand carry their sealed results to USEM, but then again it could be just some made up stories

Yes that's what I've read here too. If approved, they'll keep the passport but will not print the visa until they get the medical results.

Time was very short between last treatment and interview but everything was fine. We went to her interview yesterday and she was approved. Actually it was fun for me and fiance was nervous.

That's what I thought, for some reason St Luke's staff are not consistent with their replies. Some say just 2-3 days but this Psychologist said 10 days (she must be cray-cray lol) She didn't say anything about psych exam but just an eval.

For sure go to your interview and let the medical records "catch up" to your file after. There are occasions where St. Luke's has let the records be hand carried to the embassy, but that is the exception not the rule.

They've told Mike that they'll refer him to a Psychiatrist that works within St Luke but not affiliated with USEM (which I find it very odd) and that they normally charges P3000 but St Luke's got discounts so it will just be P1000

That sounds like the normal evaluation, and its done at St. Luke's

This may be the same holding queue for people with the 221g. Just don't miss the interview. Good luck!

I called the embassy to find out if my mom can go to the interview without being cleared for the medical but they said she has to be cleared first. They won't do an interview without being cleared on her medical. Hopefully, Mike will have better luck than my mother!

Yes another P1000 for psych eval and it's really your bad day then another P3000 for psych exam. That's the plan, go ahead with the interview the following morning and medical results will follow.

Oh I'm so sorry about your mom. Did she have to reschedule then?

I've emailed USEM today already to see what they say but we'll still go regardless of what they say
