On the form website it says to bring the interview appointment letter. But then it also states on another part of the website not to bring the emailed interview appointment letter because it doesn't have the MTL number on it. So should we bring Packet 4 letter that says we are authorized to schedule a medical and it does have the MTL number on the last page?

Also, if my fiance cannot get his vaccination records, what do they do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Yes, bring the printed e-mail you got from the Consulate, that's what I took. If he is a Toronto resident, call 416-392-1250 and they'll mail you the records for free. If not, it's best if he goes to his family doctor first, give them the vaccine list, and get them to run blood tests to see if he has immunity to the age related vaccines he'd otherwise need. They will accommodate you at the medical (or so it says on their site), but I think it's better to get it done beforehand then it won't get delayed any.

Also, just an fyi. It's first come, first serve. When you get to the building, tell him to wait by the door with the directory. They don't officially open the building until 8am. But you can be there prior to that and I recommend it because you'll be done within an hour. The nurses who come in will let you in! If you're not by the door, they're not going to let you in :) I was wandering around forever just waiting until I finally stayed at the door and a nurse came by and let me right in.

Edit:// I see he's living in St. Catherines, I'm sure he can probably find a way to get it, because they'll kick you out of schools if you don't have the right vaccines, just a matter of finding the records.

Sorry, a million edits! If he grew up in Niagara region, the link has the number there, you can call and order them. Hope this helps.

Yeah I found that link earlier too. I am going to have him call the Welland office. Thats the closest to where he is. Hoping they just have the records. If he goes to the health place will they give him the vaccines as part of his health care insurance he has already? Or does he have to pay out of pocket?

If you're talking about OHIP, they do cover SOME of the vaccines. I had to get about 5 vaccinations, so the varicella (chicken pox), measles and mumps, and the tetanus and something else was covered. I had to pay out of pocket for the Hepatitis A (which you may not even need depending on age) and the meningococcal vaccine. It cost me about $220.00. Some private health insurers, or any other coverage he might have through employment will cover the cost of some of the others, but I chose not to opt into mine (whoops). The blood test should be covered under OHIP though, so he could always test for those and get them after if needed. If he has gone to elementary or high school in Ontario, they will definitely have the records, as here they kick you out of school if you don't have the vaccinations or the records lol.

Yeah he has lived in Ontario his entire life. Not the same city, but always in Ontario. I called Dr. Seiden and booked his medical for November 12th. His interview is the 19th. So hopefully he can get the records. I don't want him to have to go through more blood tests than necessary. But otherwise he'll have to do that. The lady that booked the appointment did say he needs a flu shot now. So I'll make sure he gets that. I also asked her about his pacemaker and she said as long as hes not on any medications (which he isn't) then he should be ok. He has a little bit of info from his doctor regarding it, but not much.

Oh ywa, I'm sorry, as his appointment is in November he'll have to get a flu shot, I forgot to mention that. I really advise you not to worry about the records, you'll get them one way or another and you have a while to receive them. Good luck to the two of you!
