I'm the petitioner for my son and I recently received the letter that he is eligible for an appointment. I'm filling out form DS-260 and got the Beneficiary ID info from this forum, Thanks it was confusing.

Now my next question is, as part of the process and interview at any Applicant Service Centers (ASCs) in Mexico needs to be setup prior to the interview at the consulate in Juarez.

What is actually done at that interview at the ASC? We are traveling to the US at the end of the year and he currently has a non-immigrant visa (Tourist).

Is his visa retained at that interview or is only to take pictures and fingerprints again? Anybody know.?

Also after that ASC interview how long does it take to schedule the interview with the consulate at Juarez?

Thanks in advance.

The ASC appointment is just for fingerprints and photo. There will not be an interview at the ASC. There is an ASC close to the embassy in Juarez. The ASC appointment is required prior to the interview at the embassy. He will need to surrender his visa during the interview at the Juarez embassy.

Most people do the ASC appointment a day or two before their visa appointment. There is no need to make two trips to Juarez or do the two appointments at a separate time period.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter
