AOS from B1/B2 package prep

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for sharing information so freely.

I am preparing my AOS packet and have a few questions.

1. For the marriage certificate, is a photocopy of the original acceptable? If not, can someone tell me what I need to do. Also, do I put one copy each in the I-130 packet and another in the I-485?

2. I am filing AOS from B1/B2 (we both reside in the US), do I need to file the I-693(medical)? Currently have forms I-130, I-485 and I-765 ready to go.

3. We have a letter from the US citizen's employer verifying employment status and annual salary, do we still need to include copies of pay stubs? If so how far back?

4. How many tax returns should be in the package?

Thanks in advance!!!

1.Yes, a copy of marriage certificate is enough. yes, you should put one in I-130 and one in I-485. i did send in my original because i have extras but copies are ok, just make sure to bring original to the interview just in case they ask to see it.

2.Yes, you will need to complete the medical (I-693) and send it in with the AOS package. If you leave it out, you will get a RFE and that will delay the whole process.

3.The letter is good but youu can send at least 6 months worth of paystub just in case.

4.You can send in your 3 last tax return (2010,2011 and 2012). If you make enough in the 2011 tax year then you can just send the most recent ( which is the one you filed in 2012)

I hope i answered all your questions correctly and Goodluck with your process....:)

Filed: AOS (apr) Country: Philippines
Timeline

Just make sure your I-693 is sealed that came from the USCIS assigned surgeon / doctor.

We sent the original notarized marriage certificate on I-130 because we have few more copies.

You can also add the W2 of your petitioner together with the payment stubs and tax returns

Goodluck on your process
