Police Clearance Certificate at The Interview

Hi Board, I'm just wondering how long the PCC stay valid in a foreign country for the spouse to go for immigration visas?

Is it country specific or the Embassys have some common rules for foreign PCC?

Thanks for your input.

Your question is not much clear to me. If you are asking about the validity of PCC of foreign country, it is 1 year. If you are asking about how long foreign stay is required for PCC-----it is country specific.

Thanks Saiqa for your input.

I applied for my spouse already (I130) and its pending. She has never been to a foreign country.I understand for her to get the interview at the local embassy still may be atleast 5 to 7 months away.To avoid last minutes rush I was wondering can she get the PCC now and have it ready for the interview? Will the PCC expire by that time?

Thanks

The rule is the issued date of PCC can not be over 1 year at the time of interview. Even if it is valid (validity is 1 year) when you will submit it to NVC but validity expired at the time of interview, you have to collect another one. When you will collect PCC depends on how long it takes to your country. If it takes less than one month time (Example: my country takes 3 days, Denmark takes only 5 min), it is better to collect PCC after your case will be approved from USCIS as you really don't know how long your journey can be till interview.

It is very difficult to give reply to you as you are sharing almost nothing (country, service center, timeline etc). This forum is full of really experienced and helpful people. I get a lot from here. Need not share your case number or real name, but sharing other information will make no harm to you. It will be helpful for other people and you also. We all in the same boat.

Best of luck.
