Will a USC be allowed to attend spouse's USEM interview?

Hi! This is my husband's question. I think I read somewhere before that since the USEM moved to a new office space/building that is smaller, only visa applicants will be allowed inside for the interview. I'm not sure if that is still true today. My husband wants to attend even if I assured him I will be fine. I guess he's more nervous than I am. :-P

As a US citizen he can enter the Embassy just buy showing his passport. Don't need a reason to enter. As a US citizen they can't stop us from going into the Embassy. Yes he should be able to go with you to the interview also.

Depends on the embassy but I think you're wrong for Manilla.

A few years ago I was there I just wanted to go in and check to see where my wife would have to go. As a US citizen I just showed my passport and they let me go in. Maybe it has changed now I don't know

thank you to both of you, ChrisB0707 and Gowon, for taking the time to respond. i'll try looking for where i read that part about their office transfer and the limited space..probably it was on the USEM website. i just want to be sure because we would have to buy plane tickets for the trip to manila from mindanao so if my husband won't be able to attend the interview anyway, it might just be a waste of money. but if he could attend, then it would be worth it. :-)

I'm pretty sure he can go with you into the Embassy but I'm unsure if he can sit with you while you're being interviewed in the same room with the CO. Relax and good luck!!!

You're husband can absolutely go to the interview with you in manila !!

There is no seperate room, you just stand at a window... The CO asked

us 4 or 5 questions, very quick and easy..... Good luck.

Yup he can go in with you, no issue, I was there with my wife when she was at USEM, they asked me as many questions as they did her. B-)

She is from Zamboanga City and has never been to Manila before, I plan to be with her in Manila during the exam and interview process, if not showing how strong our relationship is, showing her that I am always going to be at her side regardless. But that is me.

Zamboanga huh? I suppose you're not going to fly there and meet her.

I attended the interview and when we both walked up to the interview with the US consular, he told me thanks for my long trip to the Philippines and please have a seat. They interviewed my fiancee for 5 minutes. 10 minutes later, they called me up to the window and interviewed me fir 5 minutes. Never know what they will do. Good luck
