My fiance has a 2 year old son. We plan on bringing him here, but we did not file for a k2 visa. When she arrives we are going to get married and purchase a house. She also wants time to settle and travel. We will probably petition for him to be here 6 months after her arrival. When filling out question 5 should I put yes or no for will follow you. I'm not sure what to put since he will not arrive on a k2 visa.

I would sure think you would say 'no' since he's not coming 'now' and you didn't already file the K2. I think that's what they are asking. I'm sure others will chime in. But since you haven't started any paperwork for him, I would say 'no'.

Well DS-156K asks you for the child's name and info so fill that out but on "will accompany you" put no with "will follow you" put yes. You guys are going to eventually fill out a K-2 form for him so u need to say he will follow since that is the case. Just be aware the plans u and ur fiance have made will probably raise a red flag. I mean this is her son and u guys are going to leave him in the Philippines for about 6 months while u two settle in and travel. I am not sure about the Philippines but in Chile if my fiance had a son and we planned this it would lead to a lot of problem especially bc her son is so young. I am not judging u, ur fiance or this decision u made I just think u should be prepared that they might ask u a few questions about this since I would assume its uncommon. I would assume mothers usually bring there children with them immediately when they come in.
