date of issuance and expiration

when are CR-2 visas typically valid after issuance....there are 3 children involved, so wanted to know if at least they wil b given 6 months to leave the country to the US........

I have been told that the visas are valid for 6 months after the medical because the x-rays and perhaps some other information expires. Technically the visa itself is valid for 6 months and I believe you can even request an extension in extenuating circumstances but the medical means realistically it is 6 months unless you want to go through all that hassle and expense again. I understand where you are coming from because my husband will be petitioning for not just me but also our four sons so it is a real hassle trying to get the timescales to work out for all of us.

yess exactly my point...cos if u have to bring three children then its vri difficult considering the expenses ....but hey thnx for this information
