Hey VJ Family,

I have a quick question... My husband had his interview on 08/28 and he was given a blue sheet (AP g 221) and was asked to check the embassy's website routinely for more info. He is from Iran and was interviewed in Abu Dhabi. We are married and have a new born baby. Does any of you know approximately how long will it take for him to get a visa. My son was born premature and he might need a open heart surgery and I can't imagine going through it by myself. :crying: Any help suggestions would be grate! THANK YOU

Hi,

It is not predictable. It depends on many factors including his education and job history in Iran or how many times and where he has travelled outside Iran. It also depends on how many agencies are asked to provide back ground checks. Average is 3 months.

I am not sure about thsi, but I believe if you provide the embassy with proof of the baby's medical condition you described, they would expedite the process. You could start wih an email to the Embassy explaining your situation and see what type of documentation they need,if any.

I hope that helps.

Sorry to hear that. The other thing you could do is write to your congressman/congresswoman and describe the situation. They might take some action.

Again, I am not sure how long it will take for them to do anything if they do anything and his visa might be ready before you hear from them but just in case you want to try another venue.

Here is a link to one of them (Waxman). All the instructions are there:

You need to find your representative by entering your zip code here:

I did this for a relative a month and a half ago and have not heard back yet!! I just wanted you to be aware of this service. They might do something because of your baby's situation.

Good luck.
