Contact the consulate and ask them about their policy regarding accepting cosponsors for the K-3 visa.

Don't panic; you'll be okay. First, be sure to get a letter from your old employer stating that you had a full-time job from (date) to (date) at a salary of ($00) and that the job was terminated through no fault of yours. That's the least they can do for you!

Next, get busy on finding a new job. Any job. Many people here are doing work that's merely a means to an end, and that's to look good on paper when the interview comes. You can always look for your ideal job while working at the stop-gap job.

Next, remember that you still have good tax returns and a good co-sponsor. Everything will be taken into consideration. It's the nature of the world we live in to have many jobs over a lifetime and the interviewers have seen it all. So just put your energies into finding your next adventure for the sake of the visa. Good luck!
