I went to GUZ to accompany my wife's interview. The day before I went in Citizen service to get my EOR letter notarized. this helps.

BUT, what I want to point out in this thread is the following:

On her interview day the security turned me down at 4th floor so I gave my passport to my wife and let her went in alone.

Here is my thought:

if I had made another ACS appointment, say, 9am on her interview day, then I could have went into the interview room and just sit with my wife and wait for her # to be called for her interview.

And, if both of us show up in front of the VO, would the VO really ask me to leave the room??

Has anybody tried this before in GUZ? I thought this could be a good practice. If both husband and wife show up in front of the VO, it can't hurt, no?

1. security will not let you in because you don't have a appointment with them. appointment only entrance.

2. i been to the embassy for passport replacement. they won't let anyone in without a appointment made. security is strict.

3. if it is ever possible for both husband and wife to show up at vo, it would be a double edge sword. vo can give both of you unfair questions to disqualify.

Read this link from the GUZ IV unit about their procedures at the visa interview. It verifies others previously posted comments.

Finally able to read the link, thanks. The internet is sketchy in China.

I know normally the petitioner shouldn't be there in the interview room.

A side story here, not related to this subject. I tell you my experience, the day that I went in with my ACS appointment, I was making a 50 buck payment in window 16, which is in the interview room, obviously I saw hundreds of people sitting there waiting for their interview. And as I was paying, I heard a bit thud, and the crowd sharply shouted. Someone passed out and fell down, head hitting the granite floor, I guessed. I quickly looked around and yes, an old man was lying on the floor, right in front of his interview window, and his wife was trying to hold him up, "Don't touch him, leave him laid down", someone shouted in the crowd. The old man totally collapsed and was not moving at all, and his wife doesn't know what to do and apparently having the worst moment of her life. The VO sitting on the other side of the window, was looking in shock too. It almost freaked me out, fxxx, I said to myself, it is just a f..ing interview, not worth to have a heart-attack, and worse, to die there right in the interview room? It was a mess in the interview room and I don't know how it ended up. Later I told my wife about this, and she almost freaked out too. I told her to stay cool no matter what happens in the interview.

The fact is many chinese people taking this interview very serious and almost overwhelmed by the occasion. To be able to accompany the one you love through this as much as you can, is what I would do.
