I really appreciate if anyone of you could post the time frame, instruction letter and next steps of the process for Mumbai U.S Consulate. If I-601 wavier Approved in past few months and you got your visa stamped in Mumbai U.S Consulate.

We really thought it is over after wavier application was approved.

Any suggestion why they put our case in Administrative processing ?

What is the time frame to complete this process? Is it mandatory for everyone?

What kind of administrative processing they are talking about?

This is so depressing and worrying and seems there’s no end. Processing time, which is the scary part of AP.

In spite of, I-601 wavier approvals, US Consulate Mumbai holding cases on administrative processing.

Thanks.

It appears Administrative Processes has completed with our case. We got a e-mail from U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai.

Her case is over a year old, she must return to the Consulate any business day at 7:15 a.m. with the following documents:

- 2X2 Photograph of herself;

- Form DS-230, Parts I and II of herself;

- Federal income tax returns for the most recent year (2011); and

- IRS tax transcripts & W-2s from 2011 of XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

The Consulate also informed us; that she must pay an additional courier fee of Rs.393 in cash, per applicant at her local VFS office before returning to the Consulate.

Thanks for the information and please keep me posted.

My case is just over a year old. Today, I went to U.S Consulate with the documents requested. I entered the building at 9.00 am; the Indian officer took all my documents and asked me to seat and wait for the interview. After waiting for few hours, my name was called. The female Consular officer ask few questions and took my signature and told me to raise my hand and sworn. And then she ask me for the original Police Clearance Certificate and I said it’s attached to the passport. Once again, she verified PCC and other documents in the system and told me that visa has been issued and you’ll receive it in 1 week.
