Romney's approval ratings as Massachusetts governor.

If that's the approval rating of a successful executive, then Obama is stellar.

I don't think he was a bad governor here at all. This is Democrat nation here and Mitt did ok, IMHO. He is the most credible candidate the GOP has. He may pull off an upset, who knows? We've had 8+ years of ####### and people might just vote for him for a change. Just like they did for Obama. The mess has been in the making for quite a while. Bush owns his share as does Obama.

There were three Republican governors in Massachusetts prior to Mitt Romney taking the office. Republicans held the office from 1991 until the end of Mitt's term in 2007. That's 16 solid years of Republican governors. If Republican governors were generally unpopular in "Democrat nation" Massachusetts, then how did voters elect four Republican governors in a row? And if Mitt did okay, then why did the voters sour on him so quickly and so deeply? I mean, his approval rating at the end of his first and only term are in Bush Jr. territory at the end of his Presidency.

It just doesn't make sense that a governor that did well would have such low approval ratings. That's all I'm saying.

Same could be said for Obama too. His rating took a huge dive since he was elected.

He started with a job approval about the same as Romney in the high 60's and is, towards the end of his first term, standing at 47% today. Now that's a hell of a lot better than 34%. Which is precisely my point. Voters nationally are more approving of the job Obama is doing at the end of his first term than voters in Massachusetts were of the job Romney was doing at that point in time. Approval rating cut in half and down to about a third, that not success.

End of Aug 2011 @ 38%. He's recovered quite a bit.

The next two months should be interesting as the barrage starts as we near the election. My vote is currently up for grabs.
