Looks like Romney really wrote Obamacare as well. He was all hot for it back in 2009. That was, of course, before he was against in in 2011 and forward.

...To find common ground with skeptical Republicans and conservative Democrats, the president will have to jettison left-wing ideology for practicality and dump the public option.

Our experience also demonstrates that getting every citizen insured doesn't have to break the bank. First, we established incentives for those who were uninsured to buy insurance. Using tax penalties, as we did, or tax credits, as others have proposed, encourages "free riders" to take responsibility for themselves rather than pass their medical costs on to others. This doesn't cost the government a single dollar. Second, we helped pay for our new program by ending an old one — something government should do more often. The federal government sends an estimated $42 billion to hospitals that care for the poor: Use those funds instead to help the poor buy private insurance, as we did.

This guy is a joke!

Romney is nothing more than white bread Obama.

Or, Obamalite. However you prefer.

That's right. You seemed to suggest that Obama benefited from the "anything but Bush" attitude among voters. Then again, McCain wasn't Bush either and he still lost. Could have been because of the ditz.

McCain turned a lot of voters off on the right, his maverick reputation preceded him. Think Goldwater and the Daisy Ad, for many of us alive during the Vietnam War, that ad kept playing through our minds.

Romney has a bit of that same reputation. Much like McCain, Romney is the Republican candidate the left said they could vote for, and of course, they were lying again. Republicans have to stop listening to the opposition, and choose somebody they (the Republicans) like.

Absolutely. They should run Palin/Akin. I'd approve such ticket. It would be a landslide. One that would bury the Republicans.
