There are no Centers for Disease Control or U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) restrictions or requirements for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and ferrets, brought in as pets, as long as they appear to be in good health, they may enter the U.S. If they do not appear to be in goods health, they will be subject to quarantine at the owner's expense.

My (now) husband used to bring his guinea pig back and forth across the border when we were engaged since he didn't want to leave him alone for a whole w(h)eek (ha get it?). He never had any issues crossing with him as a visitor,so I figure crossing at POE should be fine.

He used a large carry case for a dog or cat. Placed some fleece on the bottom with a bowl of pellets, a pile of Timothy hay and a water bottle attached to the front. Piggy was fine :)
