Hi everyone,

Today, I just got my PVC (passport verfication certificate from local police station), now i have a question that

  1. Do I need to send the original PVC to NVC, or just a photocopy or not to send at all as they need PCC from passport office
  2. Does the passport office ask for original PVC or a photocopy or notarised copy will do?

  • Can I take both the PVC and PCC at interview without affecting my file, will they still complete my case at NVC?

USCIS:

12/06/2011 - Married

01/17/2012 - I-130 Sent

01/18/2012 - NOA1 Date

07/30/2012 - NOA2 Email Received (194 Days since NOA1)

NVC:

07/30/2012 - Case arrived at NVC building

08/20/2012 - Received case #, IIN, gave both e-mail addresses

08/20/2012 - E-mailed DS-3032 (used email template & also attached scanned copy)

08/27/2012 - AOS bill invoiced & PAID online

08/28/2012 - AOS bill appears as PAID

Original passport

photocopy of passport

1-2 address proof copy and take original with you to be on safer

pcc from local police station

Rs 500

i think this should be enough, they give it on the same day here in ahmedabad and appointment is not needed

I wanted to know that is there anyone whose case got completed at NVC without sending the following docs and instead of sending to NVC beneficiary took at the interview:

1. PCC from local police station and

2. PCC from passport office

My consulate will be Mumbai as I am from Ahmedabad.. Thanks!!

For people whose case number starts with BMB..... (mumbai Consulate), they do not need a PCC from a local police station and they will take PCC from passport office to the interview.

02/08/12 - I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox.

02/09/12 - NOA1 received and processing at Vermont.

07/02/12 - NOA2 announced on status check.

07/09/12 - NVC received case.

07/27/12 - NVC Case Number and IIN Issued.

07/27/12 - Sent DS-3032 via email.

07/31/12 - AOS bill received via email, paid online.

08/01/12 - AOS marked paid, Mailed AOS packet overnight.

08/06/12 - Assigned as Agent, IV Fee bill received via email, paid online.

08/07/12 - IV Fee marked paid, Mailed IV packet overnight.

08/07/12 - AOS accepted.

08/13/12 - Case completed

09/14/12 - Assigned Interview date.

I am going to be sending,

1. Cover sheet from State payment website

2. DS-230 Part I signed and Part II- not signed

3. Original Marriage certificate

4. Original Birth Certificate

5. Copy of biographic page from Passport

you do not need PCC from local police if you have interview at Mumbai consulate. You will need to take PCC from passport office to the interview.

Why PCC from local police station?

Mumbai/Delhi Consulate only need Passport Office PCC.

To obtain PCC from passport office they ask for local police station PCC if the passport is older than 6 months. Consulate needs PCC from passport office but does NVC need local police station PCC? Will my case be completed without sending local police station PCC as my my consulate will be Mumbai?

You may need to search VJ threads to find this out. Usually ppl don't stick around here long once they are done with their immigration process, so you may not get many responses.
