So its been 2 weeks and our checks have finally been cadhed. How,long does it take until we receive something in writing? My wife's college has sent her an email asking whats up. We wanted to wait and report to school when the noa got to us. Should we just tell them now? Aos os already filed...

Also my wife and i have been reading thr post about misrepresenting , And my wife got a little worried. She opened.an account with wachovia in 2009 with her j1visa, and then stopped using it. A few months ago she went to wells fargo to reactivate the account, with her license and ssn. She sat there for nearly 2 h and when it finally was her turn, it turned out, they didnt have the right ssn on file, etc. anyways the clerk asked my wife if she was a resident now and she said no, she is residing here on a student visa. The lady then called someone else from the system and said she was a resident, my wife made it clear again that she was on a visa. But thry didnt want to see her documents and just had her sign something.

I told my wife she worries too much and if anything, that is a mistake made by the clerk and my wife never claimed any benefits etc. i hope i told her the right thing? She doesnt want to get a ban or do anything to delay our case.

Im sorry if this question is stupid, but We are both very nervous although we have nothing to hide.

Thanks.again7

You'll probably get a notice of action within the next 1-2 weeks.

Don't worry about the bank stuff, it's completely irrelevant. They were probably talking about whether your wife was considered a US resident for tax purposes (which she probably is), as that affects interest withholding for the IRS. Unrelated to adjustment of status and definitely not a misrepresentation.

Spouse-based AOS from out-of-status H-1B, May - Aug 2012

Removal of conditions, Aug - Nov 2014
