Yep...that is why K-1 process much faster than IR-1/CR-1.........but we dont have to worry about adjusting status after arrival in US.

I'm curious - when you schedule the embassy interview do you get to pick a date or do they just assign you a date? Thanks.

If you're a K1 you get to choose your date.

We were going to get married in Feb and go the other route, seems K1 is faster and a little easier to get the fiancee to the states. Wasn't aware you don't have to adjust your status once in the states. Sounds like maybe that could be the cheaper route. Not sure which is better, I I will tell you after our interview, lol..

Yeah, my wife will be a lawful permanent resident of the United States as soon as she sets foot off the plane. That is a big benefit of applying for the CR-1 visa.

Or I should say as soon as she clears through customs...She will be a lawful permanent resident

K-1 is faster, on average. And costs more than CR-1. And has more steps, since K-1 has to apply for AOS.

Yeah....more steps after arrival...as far as cost goes i would dispute that. The cost to stay and prepare and marry my wife in Pinas was quite expensive.
