I need some opinions! I was going to go visit my fiance at the end of November, but our approval has come so fast. Do you think I should still plan on going there or should we plan on going to Juarez for his interview? Or...should I just postpone my trip completely until we have packet 3? I dunno what to do because I really want to see him If I had it my way....I would be there right now hehe

I guess it depends on you and your personal circumstances. Do you have the money to make the trip? Can you take time off of work/school to travel? If I were you, and I were able to either go visit my fiance in November or be there for the interview, I would go to the interview. Eventhough you can't go in with him for the actual interview, you would be there for the moral support. But then again, you have to think about taking time off of work, school, other obligations you may have. You have to factor in everything. I know for me, I need to wait until vacation time to take time off of work (I work at a high school). My vacation times would be christmas, spring break, summer time. I will not be going with my fiance to his interview, which if all goes well, we are planning around Jan. or Feb. But if everything gets approved and all is ready, he will be coming in April and I will go down to Mexico during my spring break to bring him home with me. Decide on whats best for you and Oliverio, I know it would be great it we could go down every weekend and visit our fiances. But at least once they're here in the US we won't separate from them.

Waiting, if you can only afford one trip in the next couple of months - because of time, money, etc.- I would make it the trip for the interview. Just thinking about the interview makes me nervous, and I know I'll need all the support my fiancee can give at that time. And even if he can't be next to me, just knowing that he's close by will make me feel much better

BUT, you can always ask your novio what he feels it's best for you guys. Maybe he'll feel better seeing you before the interview

I just wanted to post that I have finally been touched..... YEAH!

It was a long wait, but looks like someone is messing with my case!

Hopefully I will be approved soon.

By the way, I forgot to respond: My fiance is from Tampico, Tamaulipas. It is a big city right on the gulf of Mexico. Beautiful and non-touristy.......

not really....I sent an e-mail to Juarez and they said that they have my petition and my fiance will recieve an information packet. Woohoo, like I didn't know this already.....I want an exact date hehehe

Very cool. I was in Tampico for 3 weeks in July/Aug.... I go again in December for 2.5 weeks......

He also went to school in Tampico, Universidad de Tamaulipas. I have had gorditas and coronas, but I am not sure if that is what you are asking.... My personal favorite is Tacos Orientales and Tortas de la Barda, tacos de sena (spelling ????

We plan on marrying here in U.S., undecided on a traditional chapel wedding or getting married at the Valley of Fire in Las Vegas (beautiful cliff top wedding)....... But, plan to have a wedding reception in Mexico as soon as possible after wedding. That will depend on when we get the papers to visit........

Four weeks since CDJ received the file from the NVC. Mail has already been delivered today and still no packet. CDJ staff apparently cannot respond to my simple emails asking them WHEN the packet was sent. So the wait continues. Hope you guys have better luck than we have had . . . we are clearly on the sssllloooowwwww track.

luvinmb, "Las gorditas de la corona" is a very well known place in Tampico where they sell "Gorditas", it's actually right in front of the University in "Avenida Universidad". I strongly recomend them And I think you meant to say "Tacos de Cecina" (a kind of Steak), is this right? I love those!!!

I asked my fiance to call the NVC to see if they received our application already, but I haven't heard from him yet

Trying to stay positive, but truth is, I do not believe anything will improve in CDJ anytime soon. I am very very unimpressed with them . . . can't get a simple question answered, they continually provide incorrect information, they're understaffed and they are NOT nice!!!

Thanks for the welcome! I too am desperate to get this thing over with. We have been fortunate that from the time they received my application and the approval was only 59 days but it still feels like forever. We are waiting for the interview letter. Once he receives it, we are BOTH on our way there. Does anyone know if they like to ask the same type of questions repeatedly or do they ask questions depending on your individual situation? We are really nervous about it. He was on a work visa here and he left 14 days after it expired. I hope it doesn't cause a problem...not that we are telling. Anyway, any help we get would be greatly appreciated.

One more quick question...Does the distance that the fiance is from Ciudad Juarez have any bearing on how quickly he or she gets the letter? I have heard that it does and it doesn't. I am really just trying to get an idea as to how quick or slow this will be.

I think that what they ask also has to do with what they see in the application they get at the time of the interview

Oh, and I wouldn't worry about the packet they'll send out to him. The USC gets it too, and even if he doesn't receive his in Mexico you can head to CDJ as soon as you get yours in the US

A LITTLE INFO FOR PEOPLE ALSO GOING THRU CDJ AS WE ARE CDJ GOT OUR APPROVAL FROM NVC ON OCT 6 WE GOT A E MAIL FROM CDJ TODAY STATING THAT OUR PACKET WAS SENT OUT ON OCT 20 WE STILL HAVENT GOTTEN IT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WE ARE VERY ANXIOUS HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE
