I know what you mean, we fel the same exact way. My SO said for us to risk it and go to Juarez once we heard they had finished processing our paper work. We went to the information window in the morning and got the appt letter. This was the week of September the 23rd. I just rec'd the letter from immigration and the Senator like 2 weeks ago.

So, you guys just walked to the information window and they printed it out right? I figured this is what we are going to have to do. You received it in Mexico or the US? Did your SO ever receive it?

Andrea

Yes, we went first thing in the morning to the information window and they asked for a copy of the letter etc. The guy at the window was really nice and gave us a copy of theappt lettert. I think they open at 7:30.

We rec'd the appt letter in US. I don't know if he rec'd it in Mexico b/c right now he is in Monterrey/

Ernesto,

Don't worry about last names they know about all this. My step-dad has it that way as well. His moms last name is used as his middle name. We filled it out using his first name and then used both last names under last names. We didn't seem to have a problem. The consulate knows as well as USICS that Latin names have father + mother last names. I wouldn't worry about it people seem to do the last name thing different ways. They understand.

I have decided the week of the 9th is no good for us. I hope we can go the week of the 16th. If we do this then I will fly to El Paso and meet him there. I just hope we hear something soon.

ANDREA,

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT IT REALLY HELPS A LOT!!!!!!!

YES, I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING......THAT THE WEEK OF THE 16TH MIGHT BE BETTER FOR US TOO.

I WILL BE CALLING JUAREZ TODAY, AND IF PROCESSED, I WILL MOST LIKELY RESERVE TO ARRIVE THIS COMING MONDAY TO JUAREZ.

IF I DONT GET GREEN LIGHT TODAY, THEN I WILL CALL THE NEXT TWO WEEKS TO CONFIRM FOR THE WEEK OF THE 16TH.

TAKE CARE AND THANKS A LOT,

ERNESTO

Andrea,

This is what I know so far,

I called Ciudad Juarez yesterday and they informed that they are still working on our case. Notice how I didn't put the word 'processing', since they clarified that when they receive from NVC....they are processing and that is what I was told last week. What they are doing now is called 'Verification' and they informed me that it takes them about 10 weeks from the date they receive the NVC package.

So, I guess we have a few more weeks to go. With their workload and everything, he said that it was most likely for us to be in Juarez around the end of November of beginning of December (it might be before though)

I will be calling them again on Thursday November 12th.

I really hope we hear something soon.

Take care,

OMG!!! So I called NVC twice and got the same answer "Packet 3 has been sent out!" I called Juarez to confirm and they say No, packet 3 hasn't been sent out  it is only being uploaded and can take 8 weeks from when they received it which he said they received my petition on September 17th. He said call back November 18th #######! He said they are working on it now so I guess that is kind of good news better then them saying we haven't recieved it yet even though I knew they had. This process is so frustrating UGGHHHHHH.

Well, the time has arrived and I will be leaving tomorrow morning to Juarez. The nerves are starting to kick in this morning. Like I said before I have been really calm this week and now I am on pins and needles. I know that I have everything in the way of the paperwork...at least I hope I do.

I am just wondering how much cash I should be bringing with me. I know the banks will be closed on Monday and I am not sure if I can use my debit/credit card there. Does anyone know?

Phew...one more wake up and I will be on my way.........
