Finally got our NOA-2 and MTL# and now have to prepare packet 3. On the Montreal website it says these forms are needed:

1. DS-230 part I only – one copy per each applicant, including children

2. DS-156 – 2 copies https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

3. DS-156K – 1 copy http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/82063.pdf

4. Confirmation receipt regarding Form DS-160 - one copy, available online at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

5. Below checklist of documents to gather for the interview – one copy per family is sufficient.

6. 2 color photographs (Photograph Requirements)

7. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the applicant’s passport

Our Questions are:

1) WHO is supposed to fill these forms out? The US petitioner (My fiance in AZ) or the Beneficiary (myself in Canada)?

2) IS THERE ANYTHING MISSING FROM THIS LIST? Do we need to include anything else other than these?

3) Do we need the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT right now, or just at the interview?

ALSO my fiance doesn't work. He never has. He just graduated university in Microbiology and is looking for a job now. His mother wants to be our signer for the affidavit of support, but she is retired. 4 years ago, she had a stroke and doesn't have proper use of her body. She retired, apparently with a lot of money. My fiance's father passed 10 years ago also. He had life insurance.

Is my fiance's mother eligible to be the co-signer for the affidavit? Will they accept her if she has enough money in the bank, but she's not working?

DOES the confirmation receipt (#4) HAVE to have a picture attached?

If there is anything we're missing, or any advice to throw in, it would be much appreciated. thank you so much!

Hello,

I am French and I'm going through the process of getting a k1 visa. The I-129F petition has just been approved and I'm waiting on packet 3 right now. I have a question about the documents that they should want me to bring to the interview.

I read that you have to show a police certificate from every country where you have lived for more than 6 months since age 16. I studied in the US for 8 months under a J-1 visa. Then, do I need to get a police certificate from the US?

I would appreciate your responses, thank you!

Welcome to the forum.
