Hi everyone,

I came here on K1 visa and applied for Adjustment of Status in October. I had to go to a biometric appointment in the winter but I was under the impression that I would have an interview as well. Nevertheless, I just received my permanent residence card in the mail the other day (not employment authorization or advanced parole but the actual permanent residence card with a welcome to America brochure). Do I still need to do an interview or did I just skip that step?

Thanks!

Caroline

No, at this point you will not need an interview. A lot of K-1 get their Green Card without an interview.

Day_01 05/05 AOS Package delivered (I-130,I-485,I-765).

Day_31 06/05 Biometrics done.

Day_46 06/20 Interview Notification

Day_79 07/23 Interview. Approved.

Day_86 07/30 Received GC and EAD

Caroline, I would be jumping for joy if I heard that news.

Congrats, you're all set (until you get to the ROC stage).

However, for my wife and others in the situation, it doesn't bode well. Seems like it took 7 months after the transfer to CSC (and including an RFE) to get your Conditional LPR card.

That means we have a long way to go until my wife get hers :(

Unfortunately, it did take a really long time to get my AOS approved. I got an RFE because they lost my medical from K1 and I had to redo it at my own expense. It took a while to get the appointment with a civil surgeon so it caused things to be delayed by about a month. Good luck with AOS and hopefully yours will get approved more quickly than mine!

congrats on your green card. from everything I've been hearing about CSC, I don't even think about it anymore. if things go without a problem I don't expect my wife's green card any earlier than maybe sept, and her first NOA was 23rd of feb. Our baby is due sept 14th, how cool would it be to get her green card at the same time, lol. God Bless.
