in the usa one time i got sick with some pain i just took an inner city public vehicle (one that goes around within the city regularly) to the hospital while in the Phil you need someone to accompany you. otherwise people will be scrutinizing why alone? oh how sad oh how lonely! it's basically expensive esp you have to live with a family or be with your extended family othwerwise you'll get lost...monies count a lot. i think if you can throw monies to all these people i think you will have a successful life in the phil.

Good thing about the philippines is at the healthcare is affordable. In the USA one ER visit could cost you $1,000 usd or more. In the philippines its more like less than $200. Also you can buy medicines without a prescription (only a few) but sometimes thats all you need so you avoid the doctor visit all together.

that's very expensive...probably you will do that if you have a very good health insurance... in the usa , i know of someone who had a over all work of his heart surgical wise he only paid 1000 dollars to his attending doctor even in installment and the rest free because the state has some program for those who cannot pay-- in the phil with this kind of surgery plus generic and expensive medicines that will cost to a millions of pesos... and no one is salaried in millions there except for a few businessmen or corrupt govt employees... you need to know more about this stuff!

healthcare is much better in usa, canada , in australia compared to the phil... i had my friend checked in the hosp in the us all they asked was a blood donation but not compulsory the rest free... if you know how to go about the social services of the usa you can have it- if you dont even venture out of your house knowing it you are left with more expensive stuff.. if you are in america be an american .

I can attest to that. My best friend's wife had to fly back there when their friend/bodyguard got into an accident so bad his guts were spilling out. Since she's an experienced nurse stateside, she brought supplies, medicine, etc. and supervised the care. He might have died if they weren't there to pay the ~$60k USD bill.

There are people there who are paid in the low millions. But like in the U.S., nobody can really afford to spend their salary all at once.

I think the healthcare in many ways is better in the Phil, because i can actually afford it. Lets compare, I stayed in a nice hospital in the ER over night, had an ultrasound, pain meds, urine test. Total cost about $180 to $200 usd.

In the USA i'm sure that would have been $2,000

While i agree that i think the Care in the USA is much better , more modern equipment etc But i would say for a majority of basics , the philippines is a better option . Makati Medical and Saint Lukes are nice hospitals
