Received acceptance email and text from uscis on Monday evening, June 11. Gave me a receipt number starting with NBC for our n600. How long does it usually take before it shows up online on "my case status"? Or is it a big deal if it doesn't? Thank you very much.

Hi,

You have to wait until after you receive your NOA receipt to check your Status online. However, I have to tell you that I couldn't get updates of our N-600 case. The system kept saying "error" "case not found" etc. I honestly, didn't do anything to fixed it because I know that happens to many people, where they couldn't get access for online updates. Anyway, just wait for your NOA to see if your case shows up online but don't worry if it can't be found. It's not a big deal.

Thanks! Why do you have to wait on the noa letter? Can't you use the receipt number on the email? Thank you again.

Also, I got the e-mail and text confirmations Monday evening (June 11) and today is Thursday and I have not actually received the paper confirmation copy in the mail, how long does that usually take? Thank you.

I'm sorry, I thought of another question. When the paper confirmation arrives by mail is it in your name or your child's name on the address? Thanks.

Hey there!

I PM you the answer to your first question, I hadn't seen this one before I PM you though. The NOA and the letter to pick up the Certificate of Citizenship came both in my daughter's name on the address. My name was in none of the notices. Your child is the applicant, so everything will come adressed to him/her.

Thank you. You have been so helpful. I'm a little concerned that we got the confirmation text and emails on Monday (June 11) but have not received the actual paper copy of the confirmation through the mail yet (today is thursday, June 14), did it take several days to receive that in the mail?

I wanted to update. We received the paper copy of the acceptance confirmation today (June 14), it has the same receipt number on it that our email and text did. But we still can't look it up online on "my case status". Is this normal for N600's? Thank you.

Hi, VMoore,

Glad to hear that you got your NOA today. Now, like I said in our case I was unable to get updates, system kept showing the message that the case can't be found. I kept trying once a week the first month. Then I just waited to hear from them at some point. I did get a letter to pick up the Certificate about three months later of receiving the NOA. I believe it's "normal" being unable to access their system to get updates for all kind of cases not only for the N-600. You can always call them to get info of your case if your case isn't showing up online after certain period of time.

Sharing my case which is similar, although with a N-600K (living abroad). I filed N-600K applications for my 2 children, and received a NOA acknowledging payment received ($600 per child) on April 3, 2012. Called 30 days later in May for status update and a Tier 2 person said that because of some child protection policy, they will not be posting ANY information online on the USCIS status check website, AND they will not be providing me any status information either!! Has anyone heard of anything like this (ahhh, I'm their father?!!) and does anyone have any suggestions on what to do??

Interesting, I didn't know that. I never called to get updates of our case, I just waited to hear from then at some point. Mmm, so it's the reason why they wouldn't provide acces online to get updates. Thanks for sharing the info. I find so weird that they wouldn't give you any info, update of the case being you the father of the minor applicant. I don't know what else you might do to get info of your child case, hopefully some else will give you a better input.

Good luck!

Thanks did you ever call them for an update or did you just wait?

Hi WMoore,

Nope, I never called them for info/updates of the case. After 5 years of applications dealing with Inmigration, I decided to take it easy this time waiting to hear from them eventually within a reasonable period of time. Fortunately, it worked since I always get very anxious from the beginning to the end.smile.gif

Well, that's just it, ... these were NOT viewable online. That's what a we're saying here, but the reason is not really clear why not, other than what I posted previously.

<div><br></div><div>So can you see yours online?  The case number starts with "NBC....", right?</div>
