SINGAPORE POLICE CERTIFICATE

I RECEIVED MY PACKET 4 LAST WEEK AND MY INTERVIEW WILL BE THIS JULY 31ST IN SINGAPORE. MY ISSUE IS I STILL DONT HAVE A SINGAPORE POLICE CERT BECAUSE THEY WONT ISSUE TO NON SINGAPOREANS. I EMAILED US EMBASSY SINGAPORE AND THEY SAID COC IS A REQUIREMENT FOR US VISA APPLICATION. IVE READ FROM FORUMS THAT SOME OFFICERS GAVE A LETTER OF APPEAL TO APPLICANTS AFTR THE INTERVIEW AND THEN THATS THE TIME SINGAPORE POLICE WILL ISSUE (which makes the whole process even longer) DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE FOR FOREIGN WORKERS IN SINGAPORE AND WAS ABLE TO GET THIS COC BEFORE THE INTERVIEW. THANKS!

Wala pa. Still waiting for the NOA2 pa kami, we read and read some info. Were you able to call the police office? I tried to call this day. try 6435-0000, we still need to go there with the letter from the embassy plus passport at saka passport size photo (singapore)

I also need to submit Police certificate to NVC. According to website, singapore police no longer inssue police certificate to foreigners.

How did you handle this situation?

I was in the same boat 18 months ago. My wife is Filipino and worked in Singapore several years before we got married. I can't tell you how it is now, since we went thru this in May thru July of 2011, but NVC checked the box saying it wasn't obtainable when our NVC package was approved. Since we knew we couldn't get it, we didn't even try and USEM didn't ask for it.

These days, I'm not sure how this is going. I've read a lot of posts about people going to crazy lengths to these clearances, but how do you obtain that which cannot be obtained?

If Singapore is actually giving these out to foreign workers now, they should do the decent thing and say so clearly. Otherwise, the US State Department needs to get real and accept that these are not available.

This is a real hardship and I wish the best to all of you stuck in this limbo.
