Hey everyone! Just wondering if anyone with experience with the London embassy, or any embassy at all really, can answer a few questions for me. I know you need copies or whatever of tax returns and pay stubs. Do the pay stubs have to be originals, or are copies ok? Can I send a mixture of copies and originals? I'm asking because a couple of pay stubs I want to use have some stuff spilled on to them, kinda embarrassing to send dirty ones lol. Also, is an employment letter really necessary? My dad is co sponsoring for us and I want to bother him as little as possible with this. Thanks!

I had my interview on Wednesday. They asked for the I-134, but didn't exactly scrutinise it! I'd attached one document for each money category, eg letter of employment, most recent payslip, statement of savings, life insurance policy. Didn't seem to be a problem. I think the really detailed financial stuff comes with the I-184 during AOS. Good luck!

PS Do make sure it's signed by your fiance though. I nearly came home from visiting him without his signature and that could have been hairy!

Hello

I had my interview on April 12th and fly out on the 20th June, my experiance with all the docs was that most of them they didn't look at or even want, the letter from the employer they didn't read or want, the copies of pay slips they didn't look at, I got a years worth of bank statements sent over from my fiancée in the states, and all they kept was the last month, letter from the bank they didn't want, my advice would be to gather everything that they ask, remember each case is taken on its own merit, the folder of evidence I took in with me with a view to handing it over I actually brought home with me, my experiance was very fast from sending off the 1-129f prob took around 6 months, my actually visit for the appointment at the embassy took less then an hour and most of that was waiting around for my number to be called

I think it depends on each case from what it sounds. My fiance's interview was last week (I was there...in the process of doing a review right now), and even though I brought every conceivable bit of financial info for him to present to them, all they wanted from was my employer's letter and the main 134 form. I have a feeling it depends on what they see on the form with a quick glance and they judge it from there regarding what they want more info on?

BTW, I'd say originals of the employer letter and bank letter as asked. With other things, get originals where you can, but sometimes the only original is a printout of an online statement.

Hey!

I would look at this link:

This tells you all of the experiences of people going for their interview at the US embassey in London. Very useful indeed.
