I got married to à us citizen in THE netherlands. We have à child together and i have 2 children from à previous marriage.

We got permission from Chicago to have our i130 and the whole visa (CR1)eeing processed through Amsterdam consulate and also everything w ill be expedited. (We got this dued to danger to personal safety)

We filed the papers from holland and a few weeks later my husband returned to the US because he has a new job. We got the permission to fle through Amsterdam 2 days after my husband had left.

The problem now is: amsterdam consulate demands my husband to fly back for a day and come to the office and turn in all original papers in person!!!!

But my husband has just left!!!! A ticket costs 2500 dollar. Plus, he just started a new job and he can't "just" leave like that. The lady of the Amsterdam consulate demands him to come here otherwise we just have to file through Chicago the normal wat andwait about 9 months to get a visa!

Does anyone know if there is an other way? Is there a way to avoid my husband having to fly back? Can't he maybe, for example, turn in the papers in person in Chicago. Or maybe, can't we get this emergency permission from Chicago and file from there and still have everything go as fast as it would have when we file from Amsterdam?

I'm lost here n find it pretty redicilous. There must be another way besides having him fly back?

We are in hurry cuz our safety is in danger while we are still here.

Any answer will be highly appreciated!!!!!

It seems that it makes sense for the USC to attend the interview if safety is a concern. I am confident that an employer would grant a few days off if an employee's family was in peril.
